Curriculum for K-12 Students
After several successful pilot programs with students, teachers
and poets from across the nation, HistoryQuest.US announced the
availability of the HistoryQuest.US platform and curriculum. HistoryQuest.US
is a standards-based program that connects learners to historical
and cultural sites and objects to explore important social issues
and foster a deeper appreciation for historical themes and lessons.
The program employs web-based distance learning technologies
to bridge geographic barriers.
The program was developed through a partnership with Columbia
University Teachers College Institute for Learning Technologies,
Jonathan Finkelstein, and participating museums and K-12 educators.
HistoryQuest.US is unique in that participating students interact
live online with experts and curators and with other students
across the country, and around the globe. The live interaction
includes actual online voice discussion and a wide variety
of stimulating and exciting collaborative activities.
